English rhymes to learn English with pleasure

Posted by admin on April 30, 2008

It’s not an easy thing to learn English and you need much time to practice your speech and learn grammar. But one of effective ways to learn English is to learn English rhymes which can make your speech fluent. Some of my friends say that this way of learning English takes too much time and the effect if not so evident BUT I am sure that it is not true – try it yourself and you will see that learning English can be a pleasure.

Lazy Mary, will you get up?
Will you get up, will you get up?
Lazy Mary, will you get up,
So early in the morning.

Solomon Grundy

Solomon Grundy,
Born on Monday,
Christened on Tuesday,
Married on Wednesday,
Took ill on Thursday,
Worse on Friday,
Died on Saturday,
Buried on Sunday:
This is the end
Of Solomon Grundy.
Jack and Jills
Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down
And broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after.

Up Jack got
And home did trot
As fast as he could caper
Went to bed
And plastered his head
With vinegar and brown paper.
Mutability
The flower that smiles today
Tomorrow dies;
All that we wish to stay
Tempts and then flies.
What is this world’s delight?
Lightning that mocks the night,
Brief even as bright.

Virtue, how frail it is!
Friendship how rare!
Love, how it sells poor bliss
For proud despair!
