Accent Francis School of French is located in the historic city of Montpellier and is situated in a 19th century building overlooking the Place de la Comédie. There are 14 class rooms at the institute which are equipped with a variety of teaching aids. The institute provides accommodation to foreigners for the full course period. To further assist the students, a reading and study room equipped with books on French literature, newspapers, workbooks and magazines is available for use as reference or for studies. The Institute offers courses both for beginners and advanced levels. Free internet, as well as wireless internet is available for the benefit of the students.

Teaching Staff:

The teachers at Accent Francis are adept at teaching French to foreign students. They are all native speakers of French and are highly qualified to teach French to foreigners. They are highly skilled and abounding with enthusiasm. There are two teachers for a class of 3-10 students. Equal stress is given to all four rudiments of the language– reading, writing, speaking and listening. The student teacher ratio allows for excellent interaction between the teachers and students. At Accent Francis, teachers have a weekly meeting to assess each student’s development. They appraise the students about their progress and accordingly recommend a higher or lower level class depending on their standing.

Courses offered:

The course duration depends on the course being opted for and the level of the student. The usual course period ranges from one week to 37 weeks. For general French three basic courses are offered

• Standard course – Deals with developing communication in the French language under life like situations. The students are taught how to handle various everyday situations. There are 20 lessons per week that help students hone their skills in this aspect.
• Intensive course – This course combines the standard course with additional classes. The classes stress on grammar, phonetics, written and oral expression and much more. There are 10 additional lessons per week.
• Combined course – This course is further divided into three programs.

1. The first program is made to order and satisfies individual requirements of students. The student teacher ratio is 1:1 and there are 4 lessons per week.
2. The second program offered under the combined course offers 10 lessons per week. It is an intensive program, which is suitable for students who are short on time. The lessons are taught one to one.
3. The third program has a total of 20 lessons per week. Here also there is one student per teacher.

Apart from the language courses, there are lessons conducted for businessmen to handle various business situations. Then there is a course which teaches medical French to enable doctors and other medical professionals to be able to grasp basic French used in the medical environment. Classes in French cooking are also conducted along with various other courses.

Additional Info:

The students at Accent Francis are provided with a student card which entitles them to various discounts around the city. The institute works between 9:00 to 4:00.
