Music is a great way to learn English, or any language. The internet makes it easy and affordable too. Youtube has almost EVERY song known to man on it and like you mention, you can find the lyrics to almost every song with Google. You can also learn specific grammar with certain songs. For example I show how to learn the SECOND CONDITIONAL with a song by the Barenaked Ladies, "If I had a million Dollars". In the music section of my website I have a couple other songs teaching phrasal verbs and common expressions too.
